Alumni, Faculty and Students Hold Talent Show

As one of the activities to mark the Centennial of the College, faculty, students, as well as alumni held a talent show on February 19 at the UP Theater. Dubbed as "Retro Engg Week Talent Night", the organizations showed their various talents in dancing, music and acting as what has been traditionally done in the Engg Week staple events Indakan, Awitan and Smoker. All departments were well-represented through the different student organizations.

The upbeat "Saludo sa Engg" which was composed by GE Alumnus Herbie Rosales was sung by Ayla Liberato, faculty member of the MMM Department. The more solemn "UP Engg Centennial Hymn" which was composed by Dodgie Simon, an IE graduate was sung by Aura Matias and Sean Palmiano, faculty members of IE and ICE respectively.

The finale and highlight of the night was the special number performed by the faculty members led by Dean Guevara. This number which was first performed in the University-wide Faculty Follies last December was composed of song-and-dance acts taken from some parts of the musicals "Grease" and "High School Musical". The two hour show was indeed an affirmation that Engineers are not only competent professionals, but are blessed with other talents as well.
